They Never Complain. But They’re Tired. And They’re Leaving

A caution to Leaders…

It always starts the same way:

They show up early. They stay late. They deliver, again and again. They say yes when others say no. They show initiative.

But hereโ€™s what you donโ€™t see:

โ—ฝ Theyโ€™re carrying 3 peopleโ€™s work.

โ—ฝ They’re putting in extra work outside hours just to keep their unit afloat.

โ—ฝ Theyโ€™re tired but afraid to speak up.

โ—ฝ Theyโ€™re loyal, but slowly detaching.

โ—ฝ They wonโ€™t make noiseโ€ฆ theyโ€™ll just hand in their notice.

Top performers rarely complain. But that doesnโ€™t mean theyโ€™re okay. Letโ€™s stop rewarding excellence with exhaustion. Letโ€™s stop treating reliability like free labour. Letโ€™s stop testing how much they can take before they break.

If you want to keep your best people, protect them. Trust them. Reward them with rest, not more stress. They donโ€™t need ‘casual Fridays’, and ‘drinks on the house’. They need systems that work,

recognition, boundaries, our support and a culture that allows them to balance work with life outside of work.
