Are Your Words Inhibiting Your Career Development

A seed that is carelessly thrown by the wayside does not know that it landed there unintentionally. Instead, it will do what seeds do if the conditions are right โ€“ germinate, grow and bear fruit. Our words are seeds and they hold so much power. Countless times, we forget this principle and joke about certain things and laugh them off without realising that they are moulding a certain reality in our lives.

A number of us hear and make jokes like, โ€œYou canโ€™t find love in Lusakaโ€ or โ€œThese days, even if companies advertise job openings, they have already selected candidates for the position.โ€ Meanwhile, we may be praying night and day for a good marriage and a good job. Dear Christian in the marketplace (and in Lusaka ๐Ÿ˜Š), let your confessions match your supplications.

Your particular situation may not be about marriage or a new job, it could be about your business, a family challenge, a promotion and so on. The bottomline is thisโ€ฆ๐‹๐ž๐ญ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐ฆ๐š๐ญ๐œ๐ก ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ.

Proverbs 18:21 (NIV) The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

This has been a personal reflection for a few weeks now, and I believe someone else needed to hear this.
