Don’t Let a Toxic Workplace Make You Question Your Best Traits

Let’s talk about this…

If youโ€™re respectful, hardworking, eager to grow, and genuinely care about your work, but youโ€™ve been made to feel like thatโ€™s โ€œtoo muchโ€ or โ€œnot enoughโ€, please hear this: itโ€™s not a sign to change who you are. Perhaps, it’s your environment that needs to change.

Sometimes, dysfunction punishes what should be celebrated.

Being kind isnโ€™t weakness.

Having high standards isnโ€™t being โ€œtoo much.โ€

Asking questions and seeking guidance isnโ€™t incompetence.

Caring about your work isnโ€™t naรฏve.

Too many talented people in Zambia are second-guessing themselves because of toxic workplaces. Please, na papata (I beg of you), donโ€™t let a bad system convince you to change the best parts of yourself. Hold onto the good parts of you. The right workplace wonโ€™t just tolerate them, it will value them.

Proverbs 15:2 “The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.”
